eBay’s purpose is to empower people and create opportunity. Through their global marketplace, millions of people all over the world can connect to buy and sell the items they love.
However, with online tech giants facing criticism for the decline of the high street and small shops – eBay wanted to address this, demonstrating that it is a platform that actually helps these communities.
To show the brand in a new light we positioned eBay as the perfect environment for local businesses to flourish, and so the ‘Home Grown’ experiential pop-up shop was born.
Selecting a hero city, we then partnered with local hand-picked businesses who were invited to attend the pop-up to pitch their products to shoppers, offer workshops and outline the real story behind their business – all supported by links to purchase from their online store from the eBay platform.
